Sometimes we can get moving too fast and actually make less progress. I have recognized a couple areas in my life where I need to slow down to actually get better results over the long term. So, this week I want to encourage you with a phrase from the U.S. Navy Seals—“slow is smooth, smooth is fast.” It’s a great reminder that one of the best ways to move fast down the field is to relax, trust your plan, and implement effectively.
John Wooden once said, “if you don’t have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to find time to do it over again.” How true is this. Have you ever done a so-so job on something, just so you can feel like you are able to check it off the list, only to have it come back to bite you? Almost everyone can relate to this idea.
Therefore, as you go throughout your day, recite to yourself the mantra “slow is smooth & smooth is fast” and watch your overall effectiveness increase. Take this path long enough and you will start to experience the effects of what I like to call the 8th wonder of the world—COMPOUND INTEREST. The compounding of effective, consistent effort over time is one of the most amazing things to be a part of. It truly will sneak up on you. People around you will start to comment and ask questions about the progress they see before you even recognize it. That is because you have been laser focused on the idea of relax, trust & implement—just for the 1440 minutes that we have TODAY & then when you wake up in the morning—do it again! ????
Wishing you massive success in all the areas of your life that matter most.
Let’s Go!
John
