I’m convinced that we are overcomplicating success. So many are trying to find an easier and quicker way of doing things. The magic, however, comes in taking consistent action and then what I like to refer to as the 8th wonder of the world—compound interest.
It is as if you take a hockey stick and lay it on its side. The ground represents the axis of time that goes by. The biggest mistake that people make is in the beginning to the middle of the stick where it is virtually flat and unchanged. We focus on the current state and lose hope that things will ever change and then give up or change course.
Those, however, that learn to love the process—they eventually see the catapult trajectory at the end of the stick. Everyone then will typically want to praise them for being so ‘great’ at what they do.
The fact is that we are all great in our own ways, we just don’t all persist in doing the work that is necessary to amplify our greatness. This is the true secret of success.
Simply put: Stay the Course. Whose course? Your course…
Decide. Commit. Persist. Repeat.
Let’s GO!
John
